Dr Mohammad Islam graduated in from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2005 with an honours degree in Pharmacy. He then started working as a Production Officer in Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Dhaka. He moved in the UK for his Masters course in the Abertay University, Dundee and was awarded MSc degree in Biotechnology in 2008. He then studied for a PhD in Oral Cancer Biology at the Dundee Dental School, University of Dundee under the supervision of Dr. Ian R Ellis and Dr. Sarah J Jones and was graduated in 2015. During his PhD, Mohammad published a number of research papers and attended in various national and international conferences to present his work. He worked in the Dental School as a Lecturer from July 2016 until August 2018. He is now working as Technical Supervisor in the University. He is a trained mental health first aider and university harassment adviser.
Mohammad’s research interests fall into three main categories: oral cancer, biomaterials and craniofacial abnormalities. Mohammad’s specific research interest focused on elucidating the role of cell signalling pathways in oral cancer metastasis, palatogenesis, biocompatibility & tissue regeneration.He is involved in research collaboration with Tecnologica Research Institute, Crotone, Italy on Stem Cells from Dental tissues. He is currently involved in a number of Summer intern, MSc and PhD projects.
Pharmacist and gained my PhD from Nottingham under the supervision of Martyn Davies and Saul Tendler. In 1996 I took up a NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT with Bob Langer and returned to the UK in 1997 to take up an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship

Dr. Gianrico Spagnuolo received a D.D.S. degree at University of Naples “Federico II” in 1997. He
completed his Ph.D. in Dental Materials Biotechnology in 2002 and earned a post-doctoral fellowship
in 2002-2004.
In 2003 he had been Visiting Assistant Professor at Department of Operative Dentistry
and Periodontology at University of Regensburg (Germany) and from 2006 is Adjunct Scientist at
same Dental School. From 2007 to 2008 he was associate researcher at Interdisciplinary Research
Centre on Biomaterials (CRIB) - University of Naples “Federico II”. In 2011 he completed the three-
year postgraduate program in Oral Surgery at the University of Naples “Federico II”.
He recently obtained the National Italian Qualification for Associate (2013) and Ordinary (2014)
Professor.”
